My Nest has 130.06% Tenacity.īut generally? I do have Tenacity sets on some characters, but it pretty much always comes down to the speed secondaries on the mod. But only for a cheese strategy to beat Jedi Revan. The only time I’ve really done it that I know of is recently with Nest. I would say that Tenacity isn’t something I’ve modded anyone for normally.

Even then, there’s a whole complicated system for that where you can still apply debuffs or resist them even if your number is way larger than the other side.

So you’ll usually have a hard time modding someone with more Tenacity than someone modded with Potency. The highest base Tenacity in the game is B2 with 63% and 5 characters have higher Potency than that, topping off with Dooku with 85%. The truth is Tenacity is normally inferior to Potency in most situations. His attacks ignore Protection, so you’re better off boosting their health. Or when you use Nightsister against Nihilus in the Sith Raid. I wouldn’t go out of my way to use Health sets except in cases where it really benefits a character from having as much health as possible.

Every character benefits from a little more health and mods 2.0 made the bonus a little better. Health Mods are usually what you’ll end up putting on your tanks.

Unfortunately, Sith Trooper is most often used in Traya teams against Traya teams, in which case you’d want to mod him for Protection and Health.

Sith Trooper is one of the few I think would work better with Defense because of his Unique and the fact he gets Defense Up. Mods 2.0 increased the defense bonuses, but in most cases tanks would probably benefit from other bonuses. An attack from Talzin or Palpatine is going to do more damage to Fives than an attack from Sion.Īs to the usefulness of Defense mods, I think it depends on the player. The highest Armor in the game is Fives at 717, but his Resistance is 233. Armor deals with physical attacks and Resistance deal with Special attacks.īecause Armor and Resistance are different, that 11.75% Diamond mod will generally help one stat more than the other. So when you use a Diamond mod that increases Defense by 11.75% you’re increasing the set number and not your percentage (same when he gets 100% defense from his Unique). That set number is what you increase or decrease with mods or buffs and that is translated to the percent reduction in damage you get. Part of the reason for that is nowhere in-game explicitly tells you that the Armor and Resistance percentages you see are tied to set numbers. With mods 2.0 they made defense more attractive but I’m not sure that it beats out health or protection overallĭefense is probably the most complicated stat in the game. Also defense raises armor value, which is only effective against physical attacks and resistance which is effective against special attacks, ht they are raised at different %’s. I don’t think it’s as simple as 1:1 because there are some toons like Sith Trooper who get +100% def from his unique (I have him modded for 45% def too) and of course he still takes damage. I could probably make him a bit faster for tw, but that’s the only place I use him, so I haven’t put too much effort into that since I’m usually mostly offense for my guild.Īs for defense, yes it reduces the damage of incoming attacks by a %. I have mine at 92% tenacity with 216 speed. But it all depends on what kind of mods you have available to you. Kru in particular does need to be somewhat fast too in order to get the Tm ball rolling for first order.

Tenacity is really nice to have on tanks for sure for the reasons you mention.
